TESTIMONIAL
“
Sewing 1 was such an informative and fun class! I have been sewing for a long time, but I learned something new in each class. It was also a great way to refine skills that were self taught. Also, my instructor provided plenty of industry insights that you can't find in a textbook!”

FAQs
Who is this course for?
Anyone looking to learn a new skill! Our courses are designed for beginners as well as experienced designers. You should already have basic sewing skills or take our Sewing 1 course!
What is the difference between West Philly and Center City courses?
Sewing 1 and Beginner sewing courses are both great for those new to sewing! The big difference is the West Philly courses are taught on Singer Heavy Duty 4411 home machines and Center City is taught on Juki industrial machines.
What supplies do I have to buy?
You will need a machine at home for homework. We recommend the Singer Heavy Duty 4411.
I haven’t taken class with you, but am I an experienced sewist. Can I start with an advanced class?
If you know your seams, hems, etc., we recommend becoming a Member and enrolling in a level 2 course. You can work on your personal projects and work in the studio throughout the week to re-familiarize yourself with the machine.
Will there be homework?
Yes, you will have assignments to work on at home throughout the courses. You can expect to have 1-2 hours of homework each week.
Do I have access to the studio outside of class time?
No, only Studio Members and Designer Development Program students have open studio access. Click to become a Member
What is the Refund Policy?
100% refund will be given if you need to cancel your order up until the original registration deadline. 50% refund will be given if you need to after the original registration deadline has passed, but before the first day of class. 0% refund will be given if you cancel on or after the first day of class.
I started taking classes, but now want to join the program. Is that possible?
Not for Beginner Sewing, only courses completed at our Center City location with passing grades will be counted as academic and financial credit towards the program and you will not have to retake them.
