Kris Auble

Soon-to-be Made Program Graduate / Owner of Knockout By Kris

Hi, I’m Kris! I’m a fashion designer and the owner of Knockout by Kris, a clothing brand that empowers authenticity and radiates joy. I grew up sewing as a kid while helping my mom make all my Halloween costumes. Sewing has always been a source of joy for me, and my love for creating has only grown since becoming a student at the Made Institute. I am so eager to encourage others who want to follow their sewing dreams too!

Taylor Alyssa

Designer / Made Program Graduate

Taylor is a Made Institute graduate who has focused on building her brand HIERII, upon completing her schooling. Finding inspiration in nature and couture fashion, she is working to perfect her skills in beading, embroidering, and fabric manipulation. She has shown her collections at Philly Fashion Week, Atlantic City, LA, and NY Fashion Week. To gain more experience in the industry, Taylor has worked alongside other designers, worked in garment production, styling, and more. She has a strong passion for spreading knowledge and using her voice, and is excited to share what she knows!

FAQs

Do I need to have experience?

It’s not necessary! You just need an interest in fashion :)

I will turn 10 shortly after the camp. Can I still sign up?

We only offer our program to people age 10 and older. However, you can sign up for the after-school Teen Fashion club as soon as you turn 10!

Do you have housing for students?

We do not, but we are located within walking distance of public transportation.

I signed up for one session, but want to switch to a different one. Can I do that?

We only have one session for younger kids, and two sessions for teens. Per our refund policy, 100% refund will be given if you need to cancel your order up until the original registration deadline. 50% refund will be given if you need to after the original registration deadline has passed, but before the first day of class. 0% refund will be given if you cancel on or after the first day of class

I’m interested in the camp, but I want to continue learning about the fashion industry. Do you have any other programs for teens?

Yes, we offer a weekly After-school Fashion Club for teens! It is designed for people who want to develop their portfolio and skills.

Can you help me get an internship?

Yes! Once we have created your fashion portfolio we can connect you with our network of fashion designers and brands. Ask your instructor for suggestions on which brands will fit your style.

Are there any sponsorships of funding opportunities?

We have a partnership with Ellis Trust for Girls. See if your teen is eligible here: Eligibility | Ellis Trust for Girls. We do not offer payment plans, but we suggest using Affirm as a checkout method.

What supplies do I have to buy?

Teens will need small marker set, colored pencils, drawing paper, portfolio, 2 yards jersey knit, 4 yards lightweight woven and 3 yards French Terry or Fleece. Fabric is available for purchase at our studio. Markers and colored pencils are available to share at the studio.

What is the Covid policy?

The City of Philadelphia has dropped its COVID-19 vaccination mandate for students/employees at higher education institutions as of April 2023. Effective immediately, Made Institute no longer requires COVID-19 vaccination for students nor employees. We strongly recommends that students and employees stay up to date on COVID vaccination including any booster recommendations.
